Community Guidelines
A more detailed document regarding community expectations will be sent out to each participant for confirmation of compliance after they enroll.
1. Be respectful. This is a safe community, no one should ever have to feel afraid.
A. Any intimidation, bullying, or harassment will not be tolerated.
i. This includes sexual harassment
​B. Discrimination/Harassment on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, political opinion, country of origin, and disabilities is strictly prohibited.​
​C. Inappropriate messages/images may be reported and result in the expulsion of the offender.
i. This includes bullying, harassment, or intimidation messages
ii. This also includes sexually explicit or nude photos/messages
iii. Offender will be banned from Meliora International Pen Pal Program, and further action may be taken depending on the severity of harassment
D. Do not engage in illegal or dangerous activities.
i. If evidence of illegal activities is found, it may have to be reported to law enforcement.
E. Please report to us if ever faced with harassment, intimidation, bullying, or other concerns.
2. Do not spam your Pen Pal with irrelevant messages. Do not ask your Pen Pal questions that may make them uncomfortable, such as dating messages.
A. Communication outside of the Pen Pal Program is out of our jurisdiction, but spam and other inappropriate messages sent within the Program are prohibited.
3. Respect people's privacy.
A. If your Pen Pal is uncomfortable with sharing information about themselves or their life, do not force them.
B. Do not spread images or messages that do not belong to you without consent of the owner of the images/messages.
C. Do not share other people's private information without consent of the other person, including but not limited to: their email address, their address, their phone number, their name, age, gender, sexuality, race, medical history, etc.
i. Please be careful about what information you share with others online. Do not share any information that can put you at risk.
